How do I even begin to explain why I started this blog?
Over the past couple of years, a lot has shifted in my world—some changes I chose, and others that surprised me. If you know me personally, you know I don’t usually leap without a plan. I like purpose, direction, and at least some clarity before I step into something new.
So when I resigned from my full-time job, the plan was simple: Finally focus on writing and building the blog I had quietly dreamed about for years.
But life had other ideas.
Almost immediately, I took on a part-time role that—while meaningful—ended up absorbing far more of my energy than I expected. That “temporary” solution turned into a full year of putting my blog on hold. And, if I’m honest, it also gave me a tidy little excuse to avoid the vulnerable work of sharing publicly.
And now here I am—53 years on this big blue ball—realizing that if I keep waiting for the perfect moment, I’ll still be waiting next year.
So this is me choosing to begin. Or maybe more accurately… choosing to begin again.
Why I Started This Blog (and Why I’m Starting Again)
I’ve dipped in and out of blogging for years — from early attempts that were more technical than I could manage, to briefly sharing during my kidney donation journey, to launching Basket of Bounty two years ago. But only recently have I finally felt ready to show up consistently.
And that’s what brings me here now — not with a perfect website or a flawless plan, but with a clear desire to finally share the lessons, encouragements, and stories God has been writing into my life.

The truth is, my blogging journey didn’t begin with a career shift. It started long ago, when I first became curious about the “abundant life” Jesus promises in John 10:10. I devoured books, teachings, Scripture—anything that could help me understand how to live with more joy, more resilience, more purpose, and more faith.
Over time, staying quiet has become more uncomfortable than speaking up.
Although faith and personal growth are at the heart of what I share, I also write about fun things simply because they delight me—like planning our Italy travels, fitness routines that keep me energized, and the everyday observations that make me smile.
Life is abundant, after all… and abundance includes joy, curiosity, adventure, and fun.
And as I continue writing, I’ll also be exploring some topics that have been on my heart for a long time — things like authenticity, the quiet battles we fight in our minds, and the pressures we all feel in our modern world.
What You’ll Find Here
I haven’t “arrived” in life—not even close—but God has taught me more through real experiences, failures, detours, and breakthroughs than any classroom ever could.
This blog is my way of sharing the Bounty of those lessons.
Here, you’ll find:
✨ Encouragement for real life
✨ Reflections on faith and Scripture
✨ Honest conversations about growth
✨ Tools for spiritual and emotional health
✨ Personal stories (the messy, the funny, the beautiful)
✨ Occasional fun posts about travel, fitness, food, and daily life
✨ Reminders that abundant life is for YOU
There is so much heaviness online.
And so much comparison.
And so much pretending.
I want this space to feel different—like a breath of fresh air.
If You’re Reading This… I’m Grateful
Whether you’ve known me for decades or just found this corner of the internet, thank you.
Thank you for reading my heart.
Thank you for walking into this chapter with me.
Thank you for letting me begin again.
And if you feel led to follow along—by reading, sharing, liking, or subscribing—it means more than you know. Not because of algorithms, but because it helps me encourage others who might need it.
Here’s to living abundantly—joyfully, fully, and courageously.

Yours truly,
~ Amy
